Latrine Design and Construction looks at the basic principles for designing culturally-appropriate latrines in rural communities. The training covers different types of latrines such as simple pit latrines to arbor loos, and how to design for people with special needs. Other aspects of latrine design this manual teaches include siting guidelines given different soil types and terrain, and construction of the pit, different types of slabs, and the superstructure.
