mWASH, Lifewater’s missional Water, Sanitation and Hygiene curriculum (mWASH), equips community-level practitioners with the skills, knowledge, and base of understanding needed to walk alongside villages in overcoming water poverty.
Lifewater has developed a missional approach to meet the urgent needs of the global water, hygiene and sanitation crisis. We call this approach mWASH and it combines the best in water access, sanitation and hygiene. When implemented together, these elements are able to reduce the incidence of water-borne disease by at least 65%. Each community faces its own unique problems that keep it from practicing better WASH. Therefore, this curriculum has been created to provide appropriate solutions for the communities in which we are working, and which addresses the challenges that they face. When taught with a Christian foundation, this manual provides our team with a common understanding of how development work in communities fits into the bigger story of what God is doing in the world.
Topics include core principles of transformational development, proper hygiene and sanitation practices as well as effective behavior change techniques that bring about lasting change. mWASH Training Manual
