Lifewater and Air1 Radio

Working together for clean water, health, and hope in Ethiopia.

Radio network Air1 and Lifewater International are partnering this April to help children and families in Africa get safe water and sanitation. During its Spring Pledge Drive, each new or increased EZ Gift pledge to Air1 of $40 or more per month will help a child in Ethiopia receive the life-saving gift of water, health, and hope.

“We are honored to be Air1’s ministry partner during this pledge drive, and we are excited that Air1’s mission to reach people with a hopeful message will extend far beyond the airwaves for many years to come,” said Justin Narducci, Lifewater’s President/CEO.

“All of us at Air1 are honored and humbled to partner with Lifewater International to bring clean water and sanitation to people in Africa. By getting involved in the Air1 Pledge Drive as a new $40 per month donor on the EZ Gift program, you are putting local hands and feet to both of our ministries; providing the tools needed to save lives in Ethiopia and continuing to spread the Gospel via contemporary Christian music. Please join me in thanking God for what He is going to do through you and our ministries,” said Mike Novak, President and CEO of Air1.

Lifewater International, an organization of Christians committed to ending the world’s water and sanitation crisis, has been working for almost 40 years to reach vulnerable children and families all over the world with safe water and improved sanitation that help prevent disease. Every minute a child dies from a preventable, water-related disease, while the lack of clean water and sanitation keeps billions of people in a vicious cycle of poverty and disease. Each year, children who are sick with water-borne disease lose over 400 million days of school, and over $100 Billion in economic productivity is lost due to lack of safe water.

Air1, a listener-supported radio network playing contemporary Christian hits across approximately 250 stations in 42 states, holds seasonal pledge drives to support its nationwide broadcasts. Its creative media encourage people to have a meaningful relationship with Christ. Listeners can support Air1’s mission by making one-time gifts or pledging monthly support through the EZ Gift program.

This Spring Pledge Drive, running April 5-14, any new EZ Gift pledge to Air1 of $40 per month or more, or any current EZ Gift increased by $40 or more, will help one child in Ethiopia get safe water and sanitation. A generous donor has ensured that 100% of the gifts to Air1’s ministry will stay with Air1, and an additional gift will be made so that children in need can receive the gifts of water, health, and hope through Lifewater.

Lifewater’s work in Ethiopia reaches the unreached and underserved families in remote regions, helping to save lives by preventing disease. Improved health and safety for women and children increases school attendance and allows parents to engage in more productive labor, helping themselves and their communities out of extreme poverty. Lifewater is also mobilizing the local churches to reach their neighbors to help them live healthier lives and proclaiming a message of hope.

“The Body of Christ has many parts, and when we work together, we can reach into the most difficult and hopeless situations,” continues Narducci. “Air1 is reaching deep into people’s lives here in the US to proclaim hope, and this partnership is helping to reach deep into the lives of people around the world. Air1’s listeners will be making a big Kingdom impact.”

The Spring Pledge Drive runs April 5-14 and gifts and can be made online at air1.com or by phone at 888.YES-AIR1. Find more information about Lifewater’s work in Ethiopia and other regions at lifewater.org.
